We love to visit a nearby nature center. I go every week with my boys. Both of them have taken classes there. We spend a good amount of time talking about nature, how to be responsible for our resources, and how to keep our environment clean. Our trips to clean trash reinforce the idea about the discussions we have to be good stewards of our planet.
We are still working on understanding the word "stewardship." Today, we talked about why it is important to not only have a clean place to live but to also help the animals and insects have adequate shelter, food, and water.
For our "Penny of Time" Adventure, we talked about making our backyard a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We talked about becoming certified and started the process.
We figured out that we are missing a major element: water access.
So, that is something that we have planned to put into place.
