Today, all of us received a flu shot. The older son was particularly hard this time when getting his shot. Like he fought like a bobcat. Awesomesauce.
So, we dialed down the activity level when we arrived home and spent a few minutes learning about how other kids have helped others. We mainly talked about what the kids did, why they chose to serve in the ways that they did, and how they helped others. We talked about how small acts of service inspire other acts of kindness, some small and some a bit bigger. [It was a bit hard for them to understand how walking across the US would help kids that didn't have homes (see Zach), but I think that at the end of the conversation it was making more sense.]
