I've pulled together some of my favorite quotes about service to share today. We are busy working on some "pennies of time" adventures that take a couple of days to finish and are eager to share them with you when we are done.
I wanted to do a quick check-in with the boys on what they are thinking about "pennies of time" . . . to see how their thoughts compared to the first Interview with the Boys.
What the 6 year old says after serving through "pennies of time" for almost 3 months:
Me: What does service mean?
The 6 year old: It means to help others. Like when you do things for them like giving them food, praying for them, and helping them with hard things
Me: What do you think of "pennies of time"?
The 6 year old: "Pennies of time" is good because we serve others.
Quotes on Service:

I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.― Rabindranath Tagore
You can start right where you stand and apply the habit of going the extra mile by rendering more service and better service than you are now being paid for. ― Napoleon Hill
Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish–and in effect save their lives.―Thomas S. Monson, Ensign, November 2009
