Today, I wanted to spend some time *talking* with my boys about service and being kind. I wanted to spend some time on how one person's actions will affect another.
I chose to watch this video (love that the pinterest boards make things easy to find!):
Give a Little Love--Kindness Video
It was great to watch it with the boys, pause the video, talk about something that they noticed . . . and pursue an element of service that we hadn't explored before today. And, then we issue the challenge to each other to help someone between now and tomorrow--and be ready to report to each other what we did and use the new words we discovered. "saw a need" . . . "jumped immediately to help" . . . "helped someone I didn't know" . . .
Being in an "active" penny of time adventure where we are out serving is important. As important is to make the time to have conversations about what we are doing and why it is important. I love my boys and I love the work that we are doing.
