Act of Kindness: Care Package for a Child Living with an AutoImmune Disorder

I make my Facebook account work for me.  There are so many great organizations and ideas out there that help me keep our service acts going.  A new page was created not long ago called:  A Brighter Day.

A Brighter Day is a page with the purpose to link children that are suffering from STILLS or other autoimmune disorders with donors that can send a little something to a child and brighten a day.

The boys and I decided to volunteer to send someone a package.  We received the name of an 11 year old boy.  With his interests being games and having a creative personality:  the boys chose an orgami kit and a puzzle cube game.

You should have seen the intensiveness that my boys took on wrapping and writing notes for this boy.  They sat happily for 30 minutes drawing detailed pictures and talking about what an autoimmune disorder is and how it affects the things that we take for granted.

Such great things come from deliberately asking your children to help out another.

Interested in being a donor to send some cheer to a child with an autoimmune disorder?
Or, do you have a child that needs some cheer, a brighter day?  Check out the info below!

  1. What a lovely thing to do, both for the child receiving the gift and for your children in their giving it. x

    1. Thank you, Danya! The more we look around us, the more we see there are children with needs that we didn't even know about---lots of ways to help. (and I am loving your site, BTW)
