Simple Service Act: Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You

This is the perfect book to read about love.  The title sounds like a love song.  The pictures are beautiful and my youngest likes to lay on the floor and look at the illustrations.

Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You is by Nancy Tillman and is a great way to start teaching your children about the lasting nature of love.  For my six year old, he really took pause when we were talking about love and how it can always be with you.

We talked about the people that we love, the people that my children love, and how we show love for others.  My husband and I took the time to express to our boys why we love them, why we are excited to be their parents, and why we know that love is unending and will always be with them.

After we read the book, we wrote notes to those loved ones that are not near us to express our love for them.  Simple notes and drawing that we slid into envelopes and mailed, a very simple act of service.  As we wrote the notes we talked about:
  • How do we know when we love someone
  • What do we do for people we love
  • How do we know when we are loved
Such sweet conversations to have with my boys!

When I sat down to write the experience up, my four year old said,"Oh, I LOVE that a book!"

I really liked reading this book because it helped us focus on the concept of love.  We were able to talk about how we show our love for others and what we have experienced when we have served others (our love for them grows).
